Anna Ford, Account Manager, Ecosurety
Anna is account manager at Ecosurety, the market leading compliance scheme based in Bristol investing in quality recycling. With more than 1,000 customers including Danone, the Co-operative Group, Nestlé and Virgin Media, Ecosurety supports efficient and more transparent investment in UK recycling projects via infrastructure, innovation and consumer awareness campaigns. Anna provides key support for Ecosurety members across the batteries, packaging and WEEE regulations, with a particular focus on import and manufacture companies.
Bethan Jones, Head of Behaviour Change, Resource Futures
Bethan specialises in using broad communications techniques to engage with different audiences and bring about changes in behaviour. Having worked with many large and influential businesses – including Facebook, EE, Canon, Eventbrite and BT Retail – Bethan brings real understanding of the business world to her work with local authorities, Government departments, charities and commercial organisations, large and small. Bethan has over 15 years’ communications and marketing experience which has included encouraging broad behaviour change around waste and resource use. Since joining Resource Futures in 2015, Bethan has led communications projects with Zero Waste Scotland, WRAP and various local authorities. As the lead for our behaviour change work, she provides strategic support to many projects across the communications, education and community engagement areas of our business. Bethan also manages the marketing and communications for Resource Futures.
Peter Bradley, Associate Professor in Economics, UWE
Peter is Associate Professor in Economics and leader of the Bristol Centre for Economics and Finance Sustainability Research Cluster. His research explores environmental and energy governance challenges using empirical evidence based research as well as conceptual and theory based research to bring about economies that embody greater levels of environmental sustainability at local and global levels. Peter is editor for the Journal of Sustainable Production and Consumption and has a PhD in Commercial Local Area Resource and Emissions Modelling from the University of Surrey.
The Future Economy Group are working with carbon offset provider, The Converging World to calculate Festival attendee’s carbon footprint. Attendees for our seminars have the option to add this to their ticket price when completing their Eventbrite booking, with a suggested donation of £1 per attendee. It is hoped that this will help those attending to consider their carbon footprint in their everyday activities.
