  • All who are concerned about the undeniable effects of climate change, clearly visible all over the planet, from forest fires in Greece and California to dangerously high temperatures in Japan and Canada and our own drought conditions in the UK. This is a grassroots event from the people rising up to call for action from those in power. It is long overdue. Elected representatives have all been invited. Will they come to hear?

Description:

Grassroots environmental groups in Bristol are assembling on College Green to call for upon our elected leaders for urgent action on climate change.

Lord Deben, the chair of the UK's Climate Change Committee, has very recently said 'Act now, climate change will not pause while we consider our options'.

This is part of a global day of action, organised by 350.org and Go Fossil Free. https://gofossilfree.org/8-september/
It is planned to precede the Global Climate Action Summit - in San Francisco - September 12th to 14th, 2018
This summit has invited every mayor, governor, and business leader in the world to make a bold climate commitment to help the world reach the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement. https://globalclimateactionsummit.org

All are invited to attend, either in a group or as a concerned individual. Environmental groups are planning to walk from different points around the city to converge on College Green at 12 midday Bring your placards and prepare to raise your voice for the climate and make it heard in County Hall and Westminster.
If you care, be there.
