Let's celebrate Thanksgiving with creativity, fresh air and an abundance of beautiful food. It will be a chance to reflect on the year, be with friends and strangers in a cosy barn with delicious food and heartwarming music and poetry.
Before tucking into the 3-course feast created by Hannah Thomas of Herbs & Wild, we will have an afternoon of two workshops. You will have the opportunity to attend both.
1. Fire skills
This will be led by Stef Roberts. He became known as 'Nomad' through his brilliant vlog on YouTube and got interest from the media in 2016 known as the guy who slept in the woods every night. He now sleeps inside but spent 5 years living this way. I had the chance to join him in the woods with friends on a few occasions cooking up a dinner and enjoying the calm of being outside. He developed his skills in identifying trees, cutting wood for the fire, cooking on the fire, starting fires in really efficient ways, mastering knots for tying up his hammock. So Stef will be sharing some of his tips with you, and you'll have the chance to light your own little fires to test some of those.
2. House of Figs: Poetry and Music session
Typewriter poet Beth Calverley will create a magical poem woven from your gratitude stories, while Beth Roberts will layer a musical soundscape to bring the words to life.
During the meal, House of Figs will also perform a few pieces of their own.
