The Future Economy Network is excited to announce we are co-hosting this evening event with network members TLT LLP. We will invite Digital Catapult, Finserv Experts, DOVU and network members TLT LLP to speak on Blockchain in relation to sustainability.

Juliet Mason, Legal Director, Technology & IP at TLT LLP will be giving a brief introduction into what is a blockchain. What is its purpose and why all the hype? Why are smart contracts and blockchain often discussed together? What is a smart contract? How could these technologies be used in sustainable projects? Practical considerations, limitations and risks.

Dr. Robert M. Learney, Lead Technologist at Digital Catapult, will be taking us through the potential impact of Distributed Ledger Technology on sustainability and the economy and giving us examples of projects exploring this potential currently under development.

Areiel Wolanow, Managing Director, Finserv Experts
Areiel will be addressing use cases for how blockchain is already being used to make progress towards some of the UN Sustainable Development goals, both in the UK and around the world.

Juliet Mason, Legal Director, Technology & IP, TLT LLP

Juliet is a Legal Director in Technology and IP team at TLT focusing on Digital and Cleantech. She specialises in advising and negotiating complex and strategic cloud, AI, blockchain, smart contracts and IoT projects – as well as advising on more traditional software licensing and development (in particular agile) projects, systems integrator and SIAM/tower arrangements and other technology outsourcing arrangements.
Juliet is a trusted adviser to her clients, and is known for her exceptional negotiating skills on hard-fought and complex deals. She advises a wide range of businesses, both on the customer and supplier side, including retailers, government bodies, manufactures, trade associations, software houses, social media companies, start-ups, online network advertisers and hotel and leisure companies.

Rob Learney is the Lead Technologist for Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) at Digital Catapult, the UK’s leading vendor-neutral organisation for accelerating the uptake of advanced digital technologies by the manufacturing and creative industries.

Areiel Wolanow, Managing Director, Finserv Experts

Areiel Wolanow is a thought leader in Blockchain, and delivered IBM’s first Blockchain project in Singapore. He is an industry leader in AI, Machine Learning, and Blockchain, and is an advisor to the parliamentary group on AI and Blockchain. Areiel is an experienced and practiced presenter, and an author of a chapter in “Commercialising Blockchain”.

Krasina Mileva, Co-Founder, DOVU

Krasina is a registered European lawyer with over 12 years of experience in Contract and Commercial Law. Krasina has headed an international legal department in a law firm, having to deal with various civil and international matters. Then she became a sole-practitioner, focused mainly in Contract, Commercial and Company Law, whilst co-founding a construction business in Belgium. As Head of Legal at a million-dollar ad-tech company she discovered her passion around Data protection, Privacy and Smart legal agreements. Currently working on DOVU where smart contracts, sustainability and new ways of moving and operations are her way life.
