About the role
We have a wonderful opportunity for a community-focused horticulturist to lead in our gardens: developing our strategy to have beautiful, productive, sustainable, accessible and educational gardens.
This person will make decisions on priorities for the gardens, allocate tasks to gardening groups, develop and deliver courses; and liaise with the Café Manager for a productive growing season. The Community Gardens Manager will bring experience, commitment and a vision to ensure our site is at its best for all our visitors.
The successful applicant will have:
A qualification and background in horticulture - 3 years or more at a supervisory level.
Experience of leading horticulture involving the public and working with volunteers (some with support needs).
Experience of designing and implementing a vision for gardens including budgets and reports – and getting your hands dirty.
An understanding and commitment to equal opportunities and the ethos of community gardening on a city farm.
Salary: £21,645 pro rata FTE - £11.10per hour.
