Days: 4 days a week – 30 hours - actual days worked can be flexible by agreement with Finance Director.
Location: Bristol Pound office, Corn Exchange, Bristol City Centre
The Bristol Pound executive, staff and volunteers are a dynamic, values-led team inspired by the vision of supporting local independent businesses, renewing the local economy and strengthening community life in the city. We are now in the process of launching a Bristol Pounds Loans Scheme to further support local businesses and work with national and international partners in support of similar initiatives elsewhere.
About the role
You will work closely with the Finance Director in supporting all aspects of finance and ensure the smooth operation of all finance matters.
Key areas of work
Payments, invoicing and maintaining the financial records
BankingPayroll – preparing monthly payroll file and liaising with payroll agency
Bristol Pound Cash Points – servicing and maintaining accounts for 20 plus cash points
Reports and support to Budget Holders
Ad hoc analysis and reporting to support decision making and external reporting
Credit assessment and credit control for business loans
General office administration
End of month/year preparation and procedures
Qualifications and experience
AAT qualified or part qualified accountantAt least three years’ experience working in a finance environmentExperience of integrated accounting packagesGood IT skills/Microsoft office- excellent spread sheet skillsGood verbal and written skills, with ability to communicate finance issues clearly to non-finance staff

Experience of grant monitoring and reporting
The post will be part-time (4 days per week). The post is subject to a six monthly renewable contract, with renewal confirmed in month 4 of each period. The first contract is subject to a 3-month probationary period.
