Purpose of the Job
To grow the award-winning Refill campaign within existing partnerships, to develop new partnerships and relationships to build on City to Sea’s success.
Scope of the job
Your job is to identify the best of our existing opportunities to stop plastic pollution at source through the Refill campaign. Using our network, our team, our supporters, our stakeholders and our reputation, your job is to make sure that Refill makes the most of its multiple opportunities to stop plastic pollution at source and builds on current media and business interest in plastic pollution.
You will work to create and manage Refill campaign strands that are playful, engaging, diverse, thought provoking and impactful in a focused and well-planned manner, making a measurable difference to prevent plastic pollution at source.
This position sits within City to Sea’s Campaigns Team of three. A key part of the role will be to work closely with the Partnerships Manager, Campaigns Manager and Campaigns Coordinator to grow our existing Refill campaigns, as well as identify, plan, resource and deliver new Refill-related campaigns to meet City to Sea’s objectives. This will also involve developing successful and positive partnerships with chains, mass footfall event providers, supermarkets and retailers, the travel sector, air and rail networks.
18+ months experience working with businesses and events to develop partnerships with measurable environmental impact.
Experience in developing and implementing behaviour change campaigns within relevant industries or campaign areas such as: high street food and drink chains, FMCG companies, travel and transport and/or tourism sectors.
An excellent and effective communicator whose written and spoken English can persuade and motivate diverse audiences.
Demonstrable commitment to environmental issues and City to Sea’s aims and objectives.
Experience of the planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of sustainability campaigns and/or staff initiatives, and an understanding of how partnership campaigning can create change.
Experience of developing effective printed or digital resources for campaigning.
Self-motivated and can work effectively on their own, as well as liaising with others effectively on shared projects.
Knowledge of issues around plastic pollution and an understanding of how these intersect with wider marine conservation.
Photo research skills and ability to choose powerful imagery, along with any knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD or Spark).
*We support flexible working at City to Sea so would be happy to negotiate a contract extension to a five-day working week (full-time) if desired by the applicant.
