Bristol Energy Cooperative is a community energy business with over £10m of
renewable energy assets, a turnover of £1.2m, and a strong ethos of community
engagement and local benefit distribution. Established in 2011, we are fully engaged
in practical Climate Emergency work and are currently developing solar, hydro,
battery and microgrid schemes at a range of scales. We aim to become a significant
force in the local energy sector and are looking for a person with renewable energy
project development experience to join the team.
We are seeking a person with at least two years’ experience of renewable energy
development, preferably more, in at least one technology at project manager level.
The successful applicant would be expected to manage projects from inception to
commissioning including project finding, feasibility assessment, obtaining necessary
consents and agreements, procurement and commissioning. There would also be
some involvement in managing BEC’s existing portfolio.
The successful applicant will need to be self-motivated and capable of working
independently as well as within the team. Experience of Planning and Grid
application, land agreements, contracting, financial modelling, and procurement are
all important, and good communication, organisation, presentation and spreadsheet
skills are necessary. Experience of grant applications and grant management would
be a bonus.
This post will run for an initial two years with the expectation of continuation beyond
this. The job is office-based in Bristol and will involve meetings and site travel. Job
share applications are welcome.
