We’re looking for two people to join our small but lively field team as Seasonal Field Workers. We’ve cultivated a sociable work environment with a strong sense of camaraderie.
You’ll be part of an outgoing team of full-time and part-time staff as well as volunteers, so the ability to work as part of a team is a must.
First and foremost you’ll need a basic understanding of farming principles and be happy and capable of performing farm labour in all weather conditions. A working knowledge of organic horticulture or sustainable agriculture would put you at an advantage.
You’ll need to have experience of working on a commercial farm or market garden. We’re a community owned social enterprise so experience in a small-business or in the not-for-profit sector would also be an advantage.
Main purpose of the job

To work under the direction of the head grower on all horticultural tasks at the field including plant raising, weeding, planting, crop tending, irrigation and protected cropping (polytunnels). Also machinery and site maintenance work depending on prior experience and skills.
