If you are friendly and have an interest in helping others to garden, this is the role for you. You will support some of the most vulnerable members of your community to have fun while they continue their hobby. You will volunteer alongside an expert Social and Therapeutic Horticulture Facilitator to help care home residents access all the benefits of taking part in fun activities, whenever possible, outside in the garden.
We need people who are able to:
Travel independently to care homes, extra care settings or community gardens in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire and B&NES.
Support activity sessions running during the day on weekdays either morning or afternoon between the hours of 10am and 4pm;
Commit to 2-4 hours once a week or once a fortnight for preferably at least 6 months.
This is a great opportunity to broaden your experience if you are looking for a career in social care, horticulture or therapeutic roles. It also gives you an opportunity to brighten someone's day.
